SNOW - IN A GLOBAL WARMING WORLD

  • Oct. 21st, 2008 at 8:50 AM

It is snowing here in Montana.  This is not the first snow of the year here - we had about 5" of snow a couple weeks ago.  I love snow - everything seems purified in a cloak of white.  I was raised in Florida and really found it boring with the same weather all the time.  I moved to Montana on June 9, 1976 and by 1979 I was racing sled dogs - in fact, my very first race was in Avon, Montana and the temperature was  a brisk -52 F.  and  felt like I was Sgt. Preston in the Yukon (one of my favorite shows as a kid).  I can't wait until the 2nd episode of  "Iditarod: The Toughest Race in the World" plays tonight.  I always wanted to race in the Iditarod, but could not afford it.  I was the founder of the 500 Mile sled dog race in 1982 and I will always cherish the awe and majesty of God's creation as I ran a team of 13 dogs over the mountains here in Montana.

My friend Monda Redfern had her cancer operation yesterday and from early reports it looks like the cancer has not spread.  Please continue to keep her in your prayers.

I wish my niece Kelli and grand niece Kaycee were still living here in Montana as they love it here more then Texas.

Today we have the "Young at Heart" group from our church coming over.  My mother is baking a couple pies for it.

Remember, I have two other blogs.  One is www.preterist..typepad.com and the other is one I contribute to: www.willnottdelay.blogger.com

Remember:  LIFE IS GOOD & YOU HAVE JESUS CHRIST TO THANK FOR IT.
